Gary grew up in Greenville, NC where, in 1971
(at the tender age of 15) he started performing with a group
called The Avengers. This band was based out of Grifton, NC and
in 1972 became what is known today as the Band of OZ. When the
Band of OZ went full-time and moved to Raleigh, Gary stayed
behind (with 3 other members of BOZ) and formed a dynamic 5
piece group called Five Degrees South. After graduating from
East Carolina University, Gary moved to Kernersville. Special
Occasion was an established band performing in the Winston-Salem
area and he joined them as lead male vocal/saxophone in 1984.
Special Occasion has evolved into what we know today, SOB……..ONE
GREAT BAND! Gary is also a Senior Financial Advisor (of 20
years) with Merrill Lynch in the High Point, NC branch office.
The man who
fronts the band with his mellow sax and vocals, tracking the event from coordinating host details to making
sure the band arrives home safely.
Gary Warren assumes responsibility for
the band and event to insure everyone has a memorable occasion.
His mellow
lead vocals and saxophone riffs in between only lead us to one conclusion...
Special Occasion is...
One Great Band. |
