Seen here in the background, Paul Pugh finds a comfort zone supporting the music with melodic fills of organ, strings, brass and piano. He followed his mother's talent as an organist in 1968 playing in many local band's such as Velvet Fog, Force Inc., Nassau, ZAK, DNB, Smyle, Moon's Night Raiders and Craig Southern & Phoenix before joining Special Occasion in 1993.

He dominants floor space with two keyboard racks and a Leslie speaker, using some analog synths dating back to the 70's. These are necessary for the Special Occasion sound which will not be compromised by sequencers.
